A celebration afloat solves the problem every coastal venue has: the view is never behind other people. It also creates problems a hotel does not have, and most of them are solved months in advance rather than on the day.

For a wedding we normally charter a larger motor yacht as the anchor and add tenders, or assemble a small flotilla so the party can move between boats. Chefs, sommeliers, photographers and florists are arranged through the same single contact as the yacht.

The practical constraints are worth knowing early: guest numbers at anchor are limited by the yacht's certification rather than its deck space, and a civil ceremony at sea is rarely straightforward in law. We usually marry ashore and celebrate afloat.
