Twenty metres seventy-three of Italian sport yacht, with a crew of three aboard. That is the shape of the day: a skipper, a hostess and a deckhand looking after twelve guests, which is a ratio you would normally have to go considerably longer to find.

Three people is the right number for what this boat is asked to do. One runs it, one runs the day, and the third handles the lines, the tender and the swimming, so the boat can stop wherever the guests want to stop rather than only where it is easy to stop.

Twelve guests across a hull of twenty metres is a comfortable figure rather than a crowded one. There is deck enough for the whole party to be outside at once, and enough separation between the areas that the people who want the sun and the people who want the shade are not in each other's way.

Three cabins and three bathrooms below. One to each cabin, no shared door, and a lower-deck dinette and galley that keep the working part of the boat away from the part the guests use. It is a layout that suits a night or two aboard as well as a long day.

The saloon is full of light and carries an interior helm. That second wheel matters on the days the weather is not perfect: the boat can be run from inside, in the dry and the quiet, without anybody having to sit out in the wind to keep her going.

She works both ways, as a day cruise and as a multi-day charter. The Amalfi Coast is short enough that a good day can take in Positano, Amalfi and a swim off Li Galli, and long enough that a few days aboard reach Capri, Ischia and the Cilento.

The Amalfi Coast is her home water and it is the coast that most rewards a boat of exactly this size. Big enough to be comfortable in the afternoon chop, small enough to lie off Positano and get ashore without a production.

For a family, a group of friends or a company taking the whole boat, the combination is unusual: superyacht crew ratios, sport yacht performance and a coastline where the distance between two beautiful things is measured in minutes.
