Forty-eight metres and three, built in Viareggio by Rossinavi, carrying only ten guests. Those two numbers next to each other are the whole story: this is a yacht with the volume of a twelve-guest boat and the guest list of a much smaller one.

Volume per guest is the measure that matters and is almost never quoted. Divide forty-eight metres by ten people and you get cabins that are proper rooms, saloons that do not fill up when everyone comes in, and deck space that never has to be rationed between the group.

Five cabins, two to each, no folding berths and no compromise room at the end of a corridor. Five couples fit exactly, and so does a family travelling in pairs. Nobody arrives to find they have drawn the cabin nobody else wanted.

The central staircase is sculptural, and on a yacht of this size that is not decoration but orientation. It is the spine of the interior: you always know where you are, and the vertical space it opens up is what keeps a large motor yacht from feeling like a series of low rooms.

Nine crew for ten guests is very close to one each. It is the ratio that decides whether service is something you request or something that is simply there, and it is the single clearest indicator of what a week aboard will actually be like.

She was delivered in 2014, which puts a decade of use behind her. On an Italian-built hull that is a good age: the yacht has been through the seasons that find every weakness, and the systems aboard are known quantities rather than promises.

Viareggio is worth knowing as a provenance. It is the town where a particular kind of Italian yacht is built, and Rossinavi is one of the yards that made its name there: careful construction, restrained styling, and a preference for getting the proportions right over making a statement.

She is available across the Mediterranean. For a group of ten who would rather have space than company, she is the yacht in this fleet that gives the most of it, and there is nothing else here that offers this much boat to so few people.
