Beachouse

Beachouse was delivered in 2025. She is a forty-metre Mangusta open, and the profile is the yard's signature: long, flat and fast, with the helm set well forward and almost nothing standing above the sheerline for the length of the deck. The shape is legible from a long way off.

That low line is not styling for its own sake. Keeping the volume below the sheer gives a deck which reads as one continuous surface from the bow aft, and it puts guests nearer the water than a yacht of forty metres normally allows.

Ten guests across four cabins is the decision that shapes the interior. Yachts of this length would usually find five or six cabins in the same volume. Beachouse takes four and makes them large, on the view that a cabin is somewhere you live rather than somewhere you fit.

The aft deck changes use in about a minute. Dinner is cleared, the furniture moves, and the same square metres become the beach club. The conversion works only because nothing structural is standing in the way, which is precisely what the open layout buys.

A planing hull is a different proposition from a displacement one. She is built to cover distance quickly, and that widens the week across a longer stretch of coast: a bay for the morning and a port for the evening, without the passage between them eating the day.

Six crew look after ten guests. On an open yacht, where the exterior spaces run into one another and little separates one part of the deck from the next, the crew have to move quietly and to time. Six is the number that keeps that service discreet rather than permanently in view.

Four cabins for ten works well for a family travelling with grown children, or for two couples with friends, where the size of the rooms matters more than how many there are. It works less well for a group that wants ten separate keys.

She charters across the Mediterranean rather than from one port, so the route can be drawn first and the point of embarkation chosen afterwards to suit it. On a hull built to move, that freedom is most of the reason to take her.
