Ten metres of Sorrentine gozzo, the hull shape this coast has used for longer than anyone has been chartering on it. Round, high-bowed and easy in a short sea, it is the boat the Amalfi Coast built for itself, and it still handles this water better than anything designed elsewhere.

She is a Raptor 33 Classic from Motonautica Daniele, delivered in 2026. That combination is worth understanding: the shape is traditional and the boat is brand new, so nothing about the day involves tolerating an old hull for the sake of its looks.

Twelve guests aboard, with a skipper and a hostess included. On ten metres that is a full boat and a generous crew, and it is what makes the difference between a rental and a day out: neither the driving nor the drinks nor the swimming ladder is anybody's job but theirs.

There is a cabin and a bathroom below. It sounds like a small thing on a day charter and it is the detail that decides how long the day can comfortably run: somewhere to change, somewhere to put bags, and nobody having to cut the afternoon short.

The day is built around stopping. Swimming where the water is clear, snorkelling along the rock, and the coves and sea caves between the towns that no road reaches. A gozzo of this size can get close in to the cliff, which is exactly where the good water is.

Welcome drink, snacks and towels are included, which is the difference between a boat that is chartered and a day that is looked after. Nobody arrives with a cool box, and nobody spends the morning working out what was forgotten at the supermarket.

Three pick-up points: Salerno, Amalfi and Positano. In July and August the coast road is the slowest part of any journey along this shore, and boarding in the town where you are staying instead of driving to a marina gives an hour back at each end of the day.

Capri is within reach, and so is the whole run of coast from Salerno to the Sorrentine peninsula. It is the classic Amalfi day, done in the boat the coast has always used, with two people aboard whose job is to make it easy.
