Yacht Charter Paxos and Antipaxos
Three harbours, three hundred thousand olive trees, and water off Antipaxos that has no business being that colour.
Paxos is ten kilometres long, has three harbours and almost nothing else — Gaios, Loggos and Lakka, each a few minutes apart, each small enough that the whole village is the waterfront. Two hours south of Corfu, it is covered in three hundred thousand olive trees planted under Venetian rule, and the strait separating it from Antipaxos holds the clearest water in the Ionian.
Three harbours
Gaios is the main one, entered through a channel behind the wooded islet of Agios Nikolaos so that the harbour is invisible until you are inside it. Loggos is the smallest and the prettiest, a curve of stone houses round a bay. Lakka at the northern end has the shelter and the swimming.
All three are within twenty minutes of each other by sea, which means a week here can be genuinely slow — and the island is small enough to walk across between olive terraces in an afternoon.
Antipaxos and the west coast
Antipaxos is three kilometres south, has a permanent population in single figures and two beaches — Voutoumi and Vrika — with water that reads Caribbean under any light. Day anchoring only; there is nothing ashore but a couple of tavernas and vines.
The west coast of Paxos is the opposite: a wall of white cliff with sea caves and arches cut into it, entered by tender in flat weather and spectacular from a distance in anything else.
