Yacht Charter Procida
The smallest island in the bay, the one without a resort on it, and forty minutes from where the fleet sits.
Procida is four square kilometres, has no hotel worth the name and was Italian Capital of Culture in 2022, which surprised everyone including Procida. It is the island in the bay that never turned into a resort, and from a boat that is the entire argument: you anchor off Corricella, go in by tender, and eat where the fishermen eat because there is nowhere else.
Corricella, and why it looks like that
The harbour is a semicircle of houses painted in ochre, pink and blue, and the colours are not decoration — they were how a fisherman picked out his own house from a mile offshore.
No car reaches it. You come down a staircase or you come by tender, which means the waterfront stays a working one and lunch is whatever came in that morning.
A day, not a week
Procida is small enough to walk across in an hour and that is a feature: it fits inside a Campanian week without displacing anything. Most crews take it on the way between Ischia and the mainland.
Vivara, the crescent islet joined by a footbridge, is the rim of a drowned volcanic crater and a nature reserve — visited on foot, with the boat anchored below.
Practical notes
- Forty minutes from Marina di Stabia, an hour and a half from Salerno
- Corricella has no road access: you anchor off and land by tender, which is why the harbour is still a working one
- The Chiaiolella side is the shelter when the wind goes northerly
- It fits as a day inside a Bay of Naples week rather than as a destination on its own

Corricella
A semicircle of houses painted every colour so fishermen could pick out their own from the sea. No cars reach it — you arrive on foot or by tender.
Vivara
A crescent islet joined to Procida by a footbridge, a nature reserve, and the rim of a submerged volcanic crater.
Terra Murata
The fortified high point, with the abbey and a prison that closed in 1988 and has not been tidied up since.
Pozzo Vecchio
The beach from the film, on the north-west shore, and quieter than anything on Ischia across the water.
