Yacht Charter Saint-Tropez
Yacht charter at Saint-Tropez — Pampelonne, the Gulf and the Estérel coast.
Saint-Tropez has two entirely separate existences and a yacht gives you both. By day it is the Pampelonne anchorages and the beach clubs that only really work if you arrive by tender. In the evening, once the coaches have gone, it becomes a small Provençal port again — and you are already moored in it.
The Gulf and Pampelonne
The Pampelonne shoreline runs five kilometres and every one of the famous clubs has a tender service. Arriving from the water skips the car park, the queue and the walk.
Across the Gulf, the anchorages under Sainte-Maxime and around the Baie des Canoubiers are calmer and better for swimming.
West to the Estérel
An hour east, the Estérel massif drops into the sea in red rock. Cala d'Agay and the coves under Cap Roux are the best swimming on this part of the coast and see a fraction of Pampelonne's traffic.
Practical notes
- Berths in the old port are limited and expensive — most charters anchor in the Gulf
- Every Pampelonne beach club runs a tender service from the anchorage
- Nice and Toulon airports are both about ninety minutes by road
- May, June and September are the months worth planning around

- Sometimes, and never cheaply in season. Most charters anchor in the Gulf and use the tender, which also saves the walk back through the town at midnight.
- How do the beach clubs work from a yacht?
- You anchor off Pampelonne and the club sends a tender, or you take your own. Booking ahead is essential in July and August.
