Yacht charter to Ischia and Procida — thermal springs, quiet anchorages and far fewer tenders.
Ischia is the green island, and the one people reach after they have done Capri. It is larger, considerably quieter, and built on volcanic thermal springs rather than on a single famous square — which makes it the better second day of a week, and for some parties the better first.
Ischia and Procida together
Sant'Angelo on the south coast is the anchorage to aim for: a pedestrian village on an isthmus, with thermal gardens on the slope above it.
Procida, between Ischia and the mainland, is fifteen minutes away and is the most photographed small harbour in the bay — Corricella, with its stacked pastel houses, reachable properly only from the water.

- About two hours from the Amalfi ports; less from Marina di Stabia
- Sant'Angelo and Procida's Corricella are the anchorages worth planning around
- Thermal gardens above Sant'Angelo make a restorative afternoon mid-week
- Fewer day boats than Capri, even in August

What to do
Anchorages & excursions
Sorgeto
A cove where thermal water comes out of the seabed at forty degrees and meets the sea. Anchor off and swim in — it is best after dark.
Castello Aragonese
A castle on its own islet, joined by a causeway, lived in continuously since 474 BC.
Sant'Angelo
A car-free village on an isthmus at the southern tip, with the anchorage on either side depending on the wind.
Cartaromana
Facing the castle across the water, with Roman ruins under the surface you can snorkel over.

- Is Ischia better than Capri for a charter?
- Different rather than better. Capri is the more dramatic coastline and the busier island; Ischia is larger, greener and quieter, with thermal springs. A week that includes both is the honest recommendation.
- Can we visit Procida on the same day?
- Yes — Procida is about fifteen minutes from Ischia and the two are routinely combined into one day.
